Transcript

Spending hours on outbound sequences but only getting average results? I’ve been there.

Not sure if you should start with an email or when to follow up? I used to wonder the same—until I found 3 proven sequence frameworks that changed the game. Now, I’m sharing them with you.

These frameworks will help you get more responses, book more meetings, and build a stronger outbound pipeline. And the best part? You don’t have to start from scratch. These have been tested by top experts on thousands of prospects.

But before we dive into the 3 frameworks, welcome back to the Outbound Kitchen podcast! If you’re new here, I’m Elric, the Outbound Chef, and I’m your host.

My goal with this podcast? To be your go-to resource for scaling outbound and making it your #1 growth engine.

I’ve got two exciting announcements to share:

First: Interviews are back in October!

I’ve got 2 CROs lined up for October/November episodes, plus one SDR leader who scaled a team from 80 to 280+ reps, and another who grew a team from 0 to 50 reps in just 3 years. Oh, and next week I’ll be talking to a BDR who booked 37 meetings in his first month—we’re gonna unpack how he did it.

I’m super pumped to record these episodes!

Second: I’m excited to announce the launch of the paid version of my newsletter, Outbound Kitchen!

The paid newsletter is called The Tasting Menu.

What’s the goal? To be your ultimate resource for scaling outbound and making it your top growth engine.

Here’s what you’ll get as a subscriber:

Alright, let’s dive into the 3 frameworks:

#1 The Agoge sequence

This sequence was created by

, The founder of SDRLeader.com, and former SDR leader at Outreach.

Designed to create a comprehensive prospecting experience, it emphasizes value-driven communication and fosters stronger connections with potential clients.

uses this structure for his sequences and he booked 1000+ meetings with it.

The framework

It combines email, phone, and social media touchpoints.

Total of 15 touches in 27 business days

  • 7 emails

  • 6 calls, with 2 voicemails first and middle calls

  • 2 social touches

#2 The Becc Holland sequence

Created by Becc Holland, former SDR leader at Chorus, G2, and Gong.

Another one that I tried, you have fewer touches in the front of your sequence,

The goal is to do something different from what other sales reps or SDRs are doing. So you have fewer touches in the front of the cadence and more touches at the end.

Because usually, outbound sequences are the opposite.

Also, this one is more focused on personalization and has fewer emails.

The framework

It combines email and cold calls.

Total of 17 touches in 21 business days

  • 5 emails

  • 10 calls, with 2 voicemails

I love this one because it’s doing something different than other reps and in sales, you want to be different, not doing the same as everyone else is doing.

When I was using it, I also added LinkedIn touches.

#3 The Combo Prospecting Framework

After reading the book Combo Prospecting I started to use this framework. I know Justin Michael also uses it in his framework.

In the book, they talk about the triple.

The triple touch is:

1 call, 1 voicemail, and 1 email in less than 2 min.

So the prospect can choose the channel they want, to reply to you, and it helps create familiarity with your name.

They talk about 3 clusters. In each Cluster you have 1 main email focused on a specific pain point, followed by 2 other follow-ups or reply bump emails.

The framework

It combines email and cold calls.

Cluster 1

Day 1: Triple: Call, Voicemail, Email

Day 2: Same thread of email 1: Reply Bump, LinkedIn blank connect

Day 3: Reply bump with a visual, call (No voicemail)

Cluster 2

Day 5: Triple, LinkedIn

Day 6: Reply bump

Day 7: Reply bump, ghost call

Cluster 3

Day 9: Triple

Day 10: Reply Bump

Day 11: Reply Bump, ghost call

Total of 21 touches in 11 days

  • 9 emails

  • 3 LinkedIn touches

  • 6 calls, with 3 voicemails

My learnings about this framework, on sales buyer personas, it works great, to get a reply quickly.

For other buyer personas, like marketing personas or data personas, I add 1 or 2 days between each cluster or triple, so prospects don’t feel they receive too many touches from me.

Because I got some negative feedback about receiving too many emails.

That’s it for today! Let me know which framework is your favorite and which one you’ll try out.

If you found this episode helpful, you’ll probably love my newsletter.

It’s the go-to resource for scaling outbound and making it your top growth engine. You can join for free with the link in the description!
